Arnav Bansal
My name is Arnav Bansal and I am currently a senior at Union County Magnet High School, Scotch Plains, NJ. Our Engineering based high school emphasizes critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills through a rigorous project-based curriculum.
As a follower of climate change issues, I have been increasingly convinced that the climate crisis will primarily lead to a water crisis. Although groundwater makes up only 1% of the world's water, it accounts for 50% of the United States' water supply, and huge consumption in agriculture. To learn more about this issue and utilize my data analysis skills, I undertook a research project in my county to study the correlation between rainfall and groundwater levels based on USGS data. Additionally, I volunteered at a nearby watershed to understand the water cycle and ways to safeguard groundwater. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to preserving our essential water resources.
By harnessing the power of environmental science, data science, and technology, we will have the means to mitigate the effects of climate change and also ensure a sustainable future for generations to come. This interdisciplinary approach is the cornerstone of my commitment to driving positive change in the face of the pressing climate crisis.
Now as the founder of the non-profit dedicated to groundwater analytics, I am bringing like-minded people who share similar passion in harnessing data to address water resource challenges. Our organization's mission is to leverage technology and data science to provide valuable insights and promote sustainable water management practices. Together, we work towards a future where communities have access to reliable and informed groundwater solutions.
